Rise is a fitness, food and wellness app. Without a Rise profile, your workouts, food logs and health numbers stay on your phone. If you create a Rise profile to use Sweat Stories and Groups, the things you share (like posts and comments) and a summary of your activity (for example steps, distance and workouts) are stored on our server so other users can see them. We do not sell your data, we do not show ads, and we do not use advertising or analytics trackers.
To personalise your plan, Rise saves the following only on your device: your name (optional), age, sex, height, weight and goals; the country you are from or the food style you pick (used only to suggest dishes); workouts, yoga and Monk sessions; food and water logs; health numbers you enter or import (for example steps, sleep, heart rate, weight); photos you choose to add (for example progress photos or food photos); and your settings. Unless you create a Rise profile (see below), this data is not sent to us.
If you create a Rise profile, we store on our server (Supabase, hosted in the region we select): an account ID, your username, display name and profile photo; your email address (only if you choose to sign in or back up your profile with email — we use it only to send sign-in codes and important account messages, sent via our email provider Resend); posts, photos, workout summaries, comments, reactions and stories you share; who you follow; groups you create or join and your group activity; notifications and messages sent to you. While you have a profile, Rise also keeps an activity summary on our server so your profile, badges and group leaderboards stay up to date: daily, weekly and monthly steps and distance; workout, yoga, run, ride and Monk session counts; personal records and saved routines; and, for groups you join, weekly totals such as points, active minutes, calories burned in workouts, days you hit your water goal, average hours of sleep, the number of days you did a mood check-in (not the mood itself) and your streak. It does not include your age, sex, height, weight, food logs or progress photos. You can set your profile to private in the app. Other Rise users can see your profile, posts and group activity. Messages are visible only to the people in the conversation. You can delete posts and comments at any time, and delete your whole account in the app.
If you use GPS tracking for a run, walk or ride, Rise uses your location on your phone to measure distance and pace. Your location is not sent to us or shared.
Rise only uses the camera or your photos when you choose to take or add a photo. Photos stay on your phone, except a profile photo or a photo you choose to post in Sweat Stories or Groups (stored on our server as described above), and a food photo you choose to send to the AI food scan.
Health scores, calorie estimates, biological age and similar numbers in Rise are estimates for general wellness only. Rise is not a medical device and does not give medical advice. Talk to a doctor before starting a new exercise or diet plan, especially if you have a health condition.
We do not sell, rent or share your personal information. Data only leaves your phone for the specific features listed above, and only when you use them.
Rise is intended for adults and is not directed at anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
You can delete everything at any time in the app: Profile → Delete account (or Delete all my data if you never created a profile). This permanently deletes your account and everything you shared from our server, and all Rise data on your phone. See also our account deletion page.
Data is stored in the app's private storage on your phone. Internet requests made by Rise use encrypted connections (HTTPS).
Future updates may add cloud backup, email sign-in and watch sync. If they do, we will update this policy first.
